Mastercam's verification is very weak when compared to Vericut. Mastercam's verification does not check the actual CNC code that runs the machine like Vericut does. Modeling the fixtures (4 sided tombstone, etc.) and the machine tool itself is standard with Vericut. Unfortunately Vericut software is not cheap.

Machine is an Okuma MU4000 BC trunnion. He did not use Vericut, only Mcam's verify. He drew all the holders and added a section just above the v-flange that represented the spindle shroud. He wanted to detect collisions between the spindle and the trunnion when B was at 90+ degrees.

The interface turns a 40 min job of setting crap up into 3. definitely a MUST HAVE. I have found simple shapes incorporated into your project for alignments the best thing. Put a copy of the pallet or chuck and jaws depending on the machine into the solid to make your 1st alignment easy.

Much safer. I ran the simulation in mastercam and everything looked good. Then I ran it in vericut and the file had 25 gouges. Vericut saved me bigtime. Also, vericut is pretty easy to set up. I don't have X5 or X6 experience. Very rarely use the HS tool paths. Never touched a 5X machine or used a trunnion.

Vericut has a machine file, control file, and a tool file. So I open my Master Vericut file add to the machine the fixture and stock. I have all my holders defined in each master Vericut file.
